OUR RACE TRUCK

This is a 1975 Chevy 1/2 ton short box pickup set up for drag racing in the NHRA Super Street, Super Gas, and Super Pro classes. The engine is a 433cid Chevy Big Block with Dart Pro 1 aluminum heads, Manley aluminum rods, steel crank, Arias 7.1 pistons, and a 690 lift roller cam. On top is a Dyers 6-71 supercharger driven 25% over and an Enderle injector on racing gas. The transmission is a Hughes powerglide with a 4500 stall converter, the rear is a Ford 9 inch with 4:88.1 gears. The truck bedsides are removable along with the front clip.
Some people I would like to thank are, Greg Stephens of Burley Idaho for the paint work, John Wastweet of Custom Fab. in Coeur d' Alene Idaho for his expert welding (Hi John), Paul Andrade from Rupert, Idaho for all the help (Hi Paul),and most of all, my understanding wife for the 10 years of building this truck. By the way, the trucks name is WIFE'S INSANITY. I also have a couple of sponsors who are: Snake River Hydraulics in Heyburn ID., R&J RV inc. of Rupert, ID, and, OF COURSE dragtrucks.com!

In the beginning.
Pretty rough shape when we started.

Wonder how much metal I can cut out of here???

Narrowing a Ford 9 inch.
Time for some tubs.
Pocatello, Idaho 6.79 in the 1/8th mile.
Our truck before rebuild, Drag City
During rebuild we cover the bed.
Used aluminum to cover the bed.
Getting ready for a lot of paint.
Working on a new firewall.
Greg starting on the checkers on the right side.
I'm starting on the checkers on the left side.
Greg is still chugging along, thank God he can paint.
The white is on, time to get ready for the Rasberry!
Boy, it has been a long day so far.
Finally back on the track! Nice easy 3/4 pass at a 6.54 in the 1/8 at 104 and a 10.48 at 103mph in the quarter.
Then blew the radiator, back in the hauler.
